Reliable Power When Needed

The Subway-E is fitted with a reliable Bafang rear hub motor delivering 35Nm of torque, with assistance up to 15.5mph. This level of torque is well suited to everyday urban riding, offering efficient support that helps maximise battery range while providing assistance on gentle hills and in light headwinds.

Paired with a torque sensor, the system delivers responsive assistance when needed, making inclines and stop-and-go urban riding feel noticeably easier and more controlled.

Streamlined In-Frame Design

The 378Wh battery delivers a real-world range of up to 40 miles*. It is neatly integrated into the frame for a clean, streamlined look while remaining securely locked in place during use (2 keys supplied).

The battery is removable, allowing you to take it off the bike and charge it indoors at home, at work, or a café! Using the supplied 2A charger, a completely flat battery takes up to six hours to fully charge, making everyday charging simple and convenient.

Intuitive Control and Data

The Subway-E features an intuitive handlebar-mounted TFT display with five power assistance modes: Eco, Tour, Sport, Sport+, and Boost. The display also provides useful ride information such as trip distance, speed, and remaining range, helping you plan your journey and avoid running out of battery.

Smooth transitions between each mode help maintain a consistent and comfortable riding experience, allowing riders to adjust assistance easily as conditions change and ensuring a seamless ride. All electrical components come with a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind.

Built for Versatile Riding

Carrera bikes are known for using quality components, and the Subway-E is no exception. It features a Shimano 8-speed drivetrain with a single front chainring, paired with a wide-range 11-45T cassette. This setup provides a practical spread of gears whether climbing hills or riding on flatter routes.

The hi-tensile steel rigid fork offers ultra-low maintenance and a significant weight reduction compared with suspension forks, making it ideal for urban commuting.

Everyday Comfort and Protection

The Subway-E doesn’t skimp on detail, featuring a comfortable Carrera memory foam saddle for improved comfort on longer journeys.

It is also equipped with Kenda tyres with K-Shield puncture protection, helping to reduce the risk of flats, reduce interruptions to your ride, and provide greater durability across a range of road and trail surfaces.
